The usual dose for adolescents (12-17 years old) and adults (over 18 years old) is one capsule for the first 4 days and then 2 capsules starting on day 5. Mutaflor  may be taken on a continuous basis.

It is recommend to take the two capsules of Mutaflor with a meal, if possible at breakfast, with an appropriate amount of fluid.  With onset of flatulence or with a daily dose higher than 2 capsules, the daily dose may be split and administered with meals spread evenly throughout the day.

Chewing or splicing the Mutaflor capsule is not recommended as the capsule is intended only to open when it reaches a specific pH safe level in your gastrointestinal tract. Chewing or splicing the capsule may significantly reduce the efficacy of Mutaflor.
